History of Clan MacMillan in Washington State
2007
In July 2007 the Washington State Branch had a very successful clan tent at the Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games.
We had a record turnout of M'Ms for the Parade of the Clans on
Saturday, as the family and friends of Careen McMillian Faubus, a
long-time "clan cavalier" for us, gathered for a final farewell.
Careen passed away last spring, and her name was read out to all
during the "Flowers of the Forest" as one who has passed on. We
owe Careen and her husband Ed Faubus a profound debt of gratitude for
keeping the Evergreen Chapter of Clan MacMillan going for so many
years. That organization led directly to the creation of this
Branch.
On Sunday it was cold and rainy and we reveled in
our "Scottish" atmosphere as the clans huddled together under cover for
what must be the shortest Parade of the Clans ever held! It
lasted about 15 seconds.
